Generation Z Art Exhibit Recap

Generation Together held its first event at the Kenmore Community Club, and it was a successful, lively, and busy art exhibit! The club was transformed into an art gallery that showcased work from 19 student artists, accompanied with live music, food, and drinks, and over 100 attendees. Here are some highlights from the event!

Austin Picinich, an exhibitor and Junior from Juanita High School, displayed his marine-themed art pieces and a time lapse of a marine mural he painted across Juanita Beach Park.

Lilly Mendoza Allen, a Junior at Inglemoor High School, displayed her experiences and stages of emotions during quarantine through fashion.

Amelie Fry told a story of her self acceptance and struggles as a Generation Z Korean American through her art.

Bijan Namavar captured the attention of all attendees and exhibitors as he played over 10 pieces on the piano from memory, including a piece he’d written for his mother after his grandmother’s passing.

Sarah from Kenmore Arts was incredibly impressed, sharing that she believed student artists didn't get the chance to showcase their art enough and that the exhibit was an excellent opportunity to do so.

It was truly incredible to see different media and creativity each exhibitor brought. Everyone told their personal stories, whether it be their experiences with their hobbies, culture, or mental health, but found similarity through their shared identity as a part of Gen Z.

Because of the success and commendation this event has received, we have decided to host another Gen Z Art Exhibit next school year! A massive thank you to all exhibitors, volunteers, and attendees for making this event flourish.
